Updated: May 30, 2023

We want to know everything about you!

What is your name?

My name is Chloe

How old are you?

I’m 18 years old.

Where do you come from?

I come from Paris.

What high school did you go to?

I went to Ecole Jeannine Manuel which is a bilingual school in Paris

What kind of student were you?

I was a serious student

Choose 3 words that best describe you.

Enthusiastic, ambitious, resilient

What was your number one dream university while in high school?

My dream university was Colombia

What about your life there ?

What university do you go to now?

I go to Bocconi university in Milan.

Why did you choose this university?

My main motivation in choosing Bocconi was its ranking compared to other business schools. Bocconi was the perfect compromise between the American system and the French fac and allows me to avoid the dreaded French prépa while still having the possibility to join one of the Grandes Ecoles for my master.

For how long have you been going to this university?

I have been a student at Bocconi for a year

Was it your first-choice university?

Yes it was

What is your favorite thing about it?

My favorite thing about Bocconi is the freedom that the university grants us in terms of class attendance and exam dates.

What courses are you taking, what is your major?

I am pursuing a bachelor’s in international economics and management so basically my classes are related to math and economics and finance.

Is it academically competitive, do you find it stressful, are the classes intense?

I think it really depends on how you choose to see it and what your goals for the future are but personally I think that it’s pretty competitive and stressful for the most part

Do people help each other?

Again, this really depends on the people but most people I have met are extremely friendly and ready to help out in case of need

For how many hours do you study on a daily basis?

It depends a lot on the weeks but last year for the most part I didn’t study at all during the year and then crammed before my exams but this year I study about 2 hours during the week and more during the weekend.

What’s your advice to nail academic and social life?

I find it pretty easy to balance both as long as you keep your priorities straight and know when to say no to going out. As for studying I think as long as you spread it out over the year its easy enough to get good grades while maintaining a social life.

Was it easy to meet new people?

Yes it was very easy because most people are super friendly and easy to talk to

Is it close to your home town, if not how did you manage being so far from home?

I’m very close to Paris so that’s definitely a plus

How often do you leave campus?

I went back and forth to Paris a lot last year and other than that I try to travel around Europe as much as I can.

Is it international/ international community? What language us most spoken?

Yes there is a large international community but to be honest a lot of people speak Italian so people tend to separate between Italian and international

Do you often go to your university’s library, at what time does it close, are they social or silent?

We’re lucky enough to have both a library that is very silent and where you go when you really want to study seriously and a room below the library that also acts as a study space (in addition to all other study spots on campus) that is way more social and where people are allowed to talk as they like and do whatever

What’s your favorite place to study on campus?

My favorite place is the more “chill” library just because I prefer to study with noise around me and the possibility to talk and interact with others.

On a scale from 1 to 10 what would you rate your campus?

11/10!

Are you living in your school’s dorm?

I lived in one of the school’s residence last year but this year I share an apartment with friends. We don’t have sororities, we only have associations.

How often do people go to parties at your school?

People here go out a lot (basically all the time), especially for drinks

Are you a member of a club in your school? If yes which ones?

I’m a member of the entrepreneurship club and the debate club.

What are your favourites activities at your school?

Going out

Do people in your school tend to have a job at the same time?

I think some do but most of my friends and people I know don’t.

How athletic is your school form one to ten?

2/10

What’s the nearest city to your school?

Milan

What is the average temperature in this area?

It’s a lot like Paris

Is your life in the university what you expected? Did you have good or bad surprises?

It’s definitely better than I expected

Why the student watching should apply to your university?

I think they should apply because it’s a great university with really amazing students from all over the world and really good professors.

What would you tell the students who are interested in your university?

Come you’ll love it

What would be something you would’ve like an old student to tell you when you arrived?

Go to class
